Still at the conference. Wow, lots to learn.
As an author, apparently I’m responsible for promotion of the book, even when getting a contact with a traditional (trade) publisher. I really think this book needs to get out, but not sure where to go from here. Please pray for this book. Everyone liked it, especially the artwork.
I talked to several publishers (agents, and other authors)):
- Jean Blackmer (MOPS). Not doing picture books since 2 years ago.
- Jessica Barnes (WaterBrook Multnomah). Only does childrens books (2/yr) as a service to their novel authors.
- Cindy Lambert (Zondervan). ZonderKids does not look at anything except via an agent.
- Steven Barcliff (Kregel Pub.). Does not do children’s books.
Great book, fantastic pictures, super combination that children will enjoy for years to come.
